I did not think that there would be a WordPress App available for my Nokia Symbian phone. It goes without saying that anyone creating a mobile application for a cell phone, would do it for a Blackberry, iPhone, or Android.
I have a Nokia 5230 mobile phone. It is a very nice phone, but it is a couple of years old now.
When I started thinking about a WordPress App to update my blog, I did not think I would find one for a Symbian phone. I thought I would have to update my phone. A new phone is not in this web designers budget. I have a wife and 2 teenagers who would cry foul if I got a new phone, and they did not. A new phone for me would mean a new phone for every member of the household, and I could not afford 4 new phones.
Can you imagine how excited I was when I found out that there is a WordPress App for Nokia S60 Symbian Phones. A WordPress App that will allow you to update your blogs content, directly from your mobile phone. I don’t think I would actually need to write a blog post that is 400 or 500 words long using my cell phone, but I could easily edit an existing blog post if I needed to or even upload a photo or video from my mobile phone, to my WordPress blog.

There are other uses for a WordPress App. I can manage comments on my blog, directly from my cell phone. When someone leaves a comment on my blog, I receive an email notification that a comment has been left on my blog. I have my emails synchronized with my mobile phone, so I receive the email notification no matter where I am. I can then login to my admin pages using the WordPress App, and approve or reject the comment.
I can also view my sites traffic statistics using the WordPress App. I get an overview of daily, weekly, and monthly website visitors. I get a list of website referrers, which lets me see where my site visitors came from. I also use the WordPress App to see the search terms people used to find my site.

Oh yes…its a great app as it allows you to edit your existing blog content, write new posts, add new pages or simply manage comments with ease on your Nokia device.
I do a lot of my work on WordPress so this app will definitely come out handy to me. I know I won’t be able to do major theme edits through this but I’m sure I can do things like Posting, checking comments and such.
